Coaching History

I have worked with hundreds of triathletes of all abilities over the past 7 years including professionals, many top 10 national ranked junior, age group, and masters athletes. I have successfully and proudly coached many full-time working parents to compete in triathlons.

Triathlon History

2004 marks my 8th year as a triathlete and the beginning of my 4th professional season. I compete in all distances of racing, including: Sprint and Olympic distance up to Ironman, Xterra and winter triathlon events. Although I have focused more on longer races, I find the short ones too much fun to pass up!

  17. 10th Xterra Keystone and Richmond 2000
Although I am working hard towards professional podium finishes, I am pleased with my consistant finishes in the top ½ of the pro field.

My worst and best triathlon moment would have to be Ironman Florida 2000. I emerged from the swim in about 100th place (pros couldn't wear wetsuits). After fetching my transition bag, I found that there were no bike shoes in it (I had misplaced them the day earlier without knowing it). Frantically I checked my run transition bag and did not find them. A transition official told me to start the bike in running shoes and they would get my cycling shoes to me. 112 miles or 4hrs & 50 minutes later, still in running shoes on speedplay pedals, I rolled into the bike-to-run transition area. Although I had thoughts of giving up, I struggled through the marathon to finish in 9:37 and 30th overall.
